Andover United Methodist Church Welcomes New Pastor
And does it right!
When Pastor Terry Kelly and his wife, Brenda, moved into the parsonage on June 30th, they were visited by several persons from the congregation, and blessed with the gift of a Tropical Pound Cake!
Following the first worship service lead by Pastor Terry, there were cookies and cold drinks!
But the welcome has not been just about food. It's been about warm conversations with people who are part of the congregation, in the parsonage parlor and church dining room.
Beyond the people who are part of the church, it's been about getting to know some of our friendly, fine, and helpful E. Greenwood St. and Church St. neighbors, and some of the quilters who are thankful that the church welcomes them.
It's been about beginning relationships with people at Maier's, Michael John's, The Emporium, the post office, bank, library and Laundromat (OK, so the parsonage dryer wasn't all that welcoming!).
It's been about truly enjoying the 4th of July parade and fireworks. It's been about our visitors and neighbors taking to our dogs (and our dogs taking to them!).
It's been about friendship and mentorship extended to Terry by Rev. Stan Scoville of Wellsville United Methodist Church.
Brenda and I are grateful and so glad to be part of the Andover congregation and community, and we greatly look forward to getting to know better the people of both.
We thank both God and you!
